Hi there, I'm Stefano Parmesan. When I applied to the Atlantis Program I wasn't sure of what I was doing. I didn't do it for a prestigious double degree, I didn't do it because of the opportunity to go in "the promise land" - the US - I just wanted to go somewhere, to experience something new, to learn the language a face new cultures. It was also my first real experience abroad, and I was alone, I didn't know what to expect. And now that everything is over I would say it with a single, meaningful world: awesome! I would do it again, if I could, definitely.

Georgia Tech is one of the most stressful universities in the US, and the actual work required to achieve "straight As" is quite a lot, but it is definitely worth it. The feeling you get on campus is amazing, and the people you meet are amazing as well! And you have the opportunity to really experiment the american life in all its pros and cons, and to visit this amazing "new continent". Between a submission and a paper review I had in fact the opportunity to travel to New Orleans, Savannah, and New York, as well as to the West Coast: San Francisco, Los Angeles, Las Vegas, Grand Canyon and Death Valley. All of this with friends from all over the world, with cultures and ideas to share. It's really amazing, something everyone should experience at least once in their life.

This experience changed me a lot, and now that I have my two degrees I'm starting my PhD in Trento, with the idea to move again in the US for a period of study abroad. Maybe we will meet, somewhere, on the road.
