The Atlas Program offered me the great opportunity to obtain a Masters degree in the field of Information Security, which is the area of Computer Science that always interested me the most and that I wanted to specialize in after my studies. Further, I especially liked about the program that it combined theoretical knowledge with hands-on experience. Since the Georgia Institute of Technology has its own research department for the field of Information Security, the subject-related lectures were on a high level.

This allowed me to extend and deepen my theoretical knowledge in almost all areas of Information Security. At the same time I was able to apply this theoretical knowledge to various practical research problems at the Georgia Institute of Technology as well as the Università degli Studi di Trento. However, the program was not only important for my professional development, but also for my personal development. During my time abroad I met many interesting people from all over the world. This led to friendships that still remain today and allowed me to get to know many different cultures and religions. Beyond that I was also able to travel a lot and thus managed to visit many fascinating places like New York, Washington, D.C., or Philadelphia. In retrospection I would not want to miss any of the many amazing memories and experiences that I had during this time.

I am currently obtaining my PhD degree in Computer Science at the Chair of Information Security at the Technische Universität München.
