Gabriele Seppi

My name is Gabriele Seppi. I was born in Trento, Italy. I participated in this project because I wanted to have a chance to study abroad, as well as to visit the United States.
This was a wonderful experience! It was the first time I left my hometown for such a long period of time, so I was little scared at the very beginning, especially being so far from home, but it wasn't difficult at all, in the end.
During my period at GeorgiaTech I had to work a lot. Italian and American ways of studying are quite different, so I had to change my way of approaching work. Once I got it, though, it was much easier and I was able to have some free time to really enjoy my experience abroad. I traveled to Washington D.C. and Savannah, following some friends in trips organized by GeorgiaTech itself. Furthermore, I traveled a lot on my own (with some friends of mine, actually) to places where I wouldn't have probably been otherwise. It's in these occasions where you really appreciate the chance you had and the experience; cultural differences as well, of course.
One of the best things of this experience was the fact that I could make a lot of new friends, coming from all over the world. Moving to as big a city as Atlanta, and to as big a university as GeorgiaTech, from a relatively small town (like Trento) gives so many chances to meet many people! I'm currently planning for meeting some of them here in Europe!
If I had to define this experience in one word, I would say: awesome!

Currently I'm back to Italy and about to graduate also here.
