I started my master's degree in Computer Science in late 2007 at TU Munich.
Because I always wanted to study in the United States, but was afraid of the costs involved, I applied for the ATLAS double-degree program. With its generous grant, I was finally able to make my wish come true and study at a renowned American university - Georgia Tech.
I will not lie to you, the more school-like system at Georgia Tech was hard for me. At Georgia Tech, it was not uncommon to read and compare papers at 2 am for tomorrow's class. While at TU Munich most courses did not even have homework assignments. Nevertheless, when I recapitulate what I've learned, I must say that it was certainly worth the effort. Most importantly, the courses at TU Munich and the courses at Georgia Tech matched my interests like pieces in a puzzle.
After my time at Georgia Tech, in the summer of 2009, I was a research intern at la Universitá degli studi di Trento, where I worked in an innovative online project. There, I did not only learn la bella vita italiana but also several skills that I can now use at work. Surprisingly, in my first job I also work in an innovative online project, but this time for BMW.
